The Yemeni Minister of Water and the Governor of Ibb spearheaded solar powered water projects aimed at further supporting previous water rehabilitation projects done in the city. Previous projects include the opening of wells, transport pipelines, sewage lines, and refilling the Ibb water basin. These projects were commissioned in an effort to rehabilitate the city's water systems and to connect the city centre with the rural areas within its governate.
