Due to the ongoing war, the city's waste disposal services were disrupted and waste has been piling up in both streets and landfills. Residents raised concerns about the effects of waste pollution towards exacerbating the cholera epidemic in the region. The director of the Ta'izz hygiene fund called for international assistance to help tackle this problem stressing that combatic epidemics starts with the cleanliness of the city's environment.
