The Yemeni parliament approved a project for the economic and social welfare that went towards building a 60MW wind farm off the coast of Ta'izz. This project was first proposed in 2007 to satisfy the country's increasing need for electricity after the damage caused by the internal conflict. The Minister for Electricity expressed hope that the clean energy nature of this project would attract further investments.
