The purpose of this project was to improve the drainage system in order to prevent/minimize future flooding as well as upgrade collection and treatment of sewerage for improving the sanitary and environmental conditions in the city. The project covered a densely populated area of more than 3.000 hectares. It succeeded in increasing the wastewater treatment capacity by constructing wastewater treatment facilities and pipelines and improved sewerage and drainage systems.
