War-torn Syria is now awash with solar panels, fuel made from plastic bags and even bicycle-powered batteries. Mr Sayyed and many of his neighbours started generating electricity with bicycles, with power shortages bringing about moments of community resilience. In the face of adversity, community members have come together to find alternative solutions to supply themselves with energy.
