The objective of the UW4D project was to promote sustainable and more equitable access to water and improved sanitation and hygiene behaviour for 400,000 urban population, including in Nyala. The project targeted the unequal access to water by extending services to the unserved areas, with linked promotion of sanitation and hygiene, and the strengthening of the Urban Water Administrations (UWA) capacity.
