The Somali Urban Investment Planning Project supported the preparation of feasibility studies and preliminary engineering designs in Hargeysa. The project aimed to provide an assessment of the feasibility of selected urban investment and enhanced project preparation and implementation capacity of participating agencies. Key successes included investments in solid and liquid waste in Hargeisa, the establishment of technical assistance units and increase the capacity of core municipal staff, among others.
