The NRC established a big training centre in Kismayo in 2014, with 200 learners enrolled for courses. The RE skills training was established with the help of GIZ and SolarGen. Kismayo was a pilot project offering a potential to roll out the programme to other areas. The project promoted numeracy and literacy as well as seven different vocational courses, namely beautification, fishing, carpentry, plumbing, tailoring, electricity, and cooking.
