Launched in 2020 in Senegal, the project was implemented at Sococim Industries cement plant to partially replace cement through whole Jatropha fruits and by biomass residues. It encompassed a fuel switch from coal to biomass in the cement plant producing 1,234,000 tons of clinker per year. The results have indicated a utilisation of 96,277 tons of biomass, reducing the emissions from the use of fossil fuels by 153,648 tCO2/year.
