This project was part the federal government's Energising Education Programme (EEP) aiming to mainstream renewable clean energy across Nigeria's 37 federal universities and 7 teaching hospitals. The solar project will provide reliable energy access to 9,519 staff and students of the university and has helped improve learning processes and research opportunities, whilst addressing gender inequality in the energy sector through internship programmes.
