In 2020, the federal ministry of works and housing announced the completion of the of dualisation of the Uyo - Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo LGA in Akwa Ibom State under a budget of ₦1.7 Billion. This 25 kilometer-spanning dualisation includes a drainage system, which could help rampant flooding around the communities.
