Background

In 2011, a young Nigerian member of World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) found out about the Slow Food movement and decided to start promoting local foods aiming to save those at risk of extinction. Partnering with many local government authorities, agroecological food gardens were reintroduced in schools. The gardens project is raising young people's awareness about how to preserve local biodiversity through climate-smart agriculture.
