In 2017, The Osun State Governor lagged off the N48.7 billion Ilesa water supply and sanitation project aiming to supply water to residents of Ilesa and its environs on a daily basis. When completed, the project was to improve the daily water supply in Ilesa by at least 60 million litres of water per day. However, in 2022 the project has not shown any commensurate development.
