Many farmers in Katsina depend on irrigation farming for agricultural production. However, water scarcity in dams threatened food security and local livelihoods. To address this problem, the state Government awarded a contract for the rehabilitation of Daberam dam. In addition, the government established a meteorological station to provide weather related data to further assist farmers adapt to water scarcity. However, rehabilitation work stalled, impacting the work of farmers.
