Background

The National Cooking Gas and Tree Planting Project commenced in January, 2020, in Lafia forming part of the federal government's efforts to tackle hazardous emissions. This project will supply cooking gas cylinders to 1000 rural women in each of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria. The programme also targeted the sensitisation of rural women on the effects of firewood to the environment and their health.
