Background

For years, the village of Bisanti home to about 1600 inhabitants lacked access to electricity because they were not connected to the national grid. Local residents used kerosene lamps, firewood and candles which posed environmental and health risks. In 2015 through a multi-actor collaborative approach, organisations provided uninterrupted electricity access to all the 1600 people who live in Bisanti village.
