In Kurdula village in Sokoto state, over 4,000 people now have access to affordable electricity since the GoSolar project was introduced in 2017. But local residents lack autonomy and control of the energy delivery process, which undermine their access to electricty. Access to electricity is intermittent, because electricity delivery is designed in a way that all households are connected to a 'bulk meter', which is then connected to distribution office. There is no direct electricity supply to individual household, and so any problem in the bulk meter interrups individual power supply.
