The federal government of Nigeria established the Ecological Fund to tackle ecological issues such as flood, erosion control and erosions which is increasing due to climate change. As part of this project, the Ijebu-Ode/Ilese road underwent reconstruction and channelization works to mitigate the occurrence of floods.
