The federal government of Nigeria partnered with the private sector under the EEI project to provide reliable clean energy systems in Nigeria's main economic clusters to boost economic activities. Under the EEI project, solar street lights were installed in Ariaria market, housing 32000 shops that have lacked reliable energy access. This increased brightness in business spaces, and prolong trading for longer hours, boosting economic productivity of shops.
