To address water shortages and equitable access to water resources, the Kogi State government responded through the construction of the Osara Dam project, aiming to improve cheap local access to potable drinking water and eradicate the critical water crises in the district. The project is estimated to serve over one million people, subsidizing the cost of access to potable water for the poor and generating greater employment opportunities for locals.
