The Government of Nepal enforced the National Ambient Air Quality Standards in 2012 for nine parameters. The main purpose of establishment and operation of air quality monitoring stations is to provide the basis for decision makers to perform air quality management and increase the public awareness. Pokhara valley established three air quality monitoring stations located at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology , Pokhara University , and Gandaki Boarding School.
