To tackle river conservation and management issues, the Hariyo Ban program worked with locals both in Pokhara and surrounding areas. Through a coordinated effort between the private sector and communities, climate vulnerability assessments were organized at various levels—from community to landscape—to identify situation-specific solutions for the people and the land. This led to a strong focus on people’s livelihoods and their ability to prepare for and recover from disasters.
