Background

The objective of the National Electrification Project was to help increase access to electricity in Myanmar. The project supported the extension of distribution networks, connecting communities and households to the national power grid, supporting through off-grid electrification, technical assistance, project management and installation for distribution lines and transformers. Strengthening local capacity in manufacturing materials for the grid extension and densification improved the sustainability of grid expansion and reduced the cost.
