As a small contribution towards lowering the dependence on national electric grid, SME proposed a project to install a rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system at their purified drinking water production factory in A-Lar Township, Naypyidaw. By installing solar PV, it can replace 74,400 kWh which is 93 % of their electricity usage from national grid and diesel generators, decreasing the CO2 emissions by approximately 10,849 kg per annum.
