In Mozambique, a small wind turbine (300 kW) was installed by a private sector developer at Praia da Rocha in Inhambane Province, used as a pilot to assess the potential for onshore wind. The Renewable Energy Atlas developed by FUNAE has helped to identify the best areas for wind generation. As a result, a new project had been approved for a 100MW wind turbine in Tete.
