This project formed part of the 2018 SADC Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Status Report, involving ways to contribute to increased regional energy access and energy security by promoting market-based adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency. In Nampula and other provinces, 550,000 incandescent lamps were replaced by Compact fluorescent lamp (CFLs), however no targets were developed at the time as part of this initiative.
