The optimisation of the urban storm water drainage system aimed to be achieved by the construction of a controllable tide gate at the fishing port and the restoration of the run-off capacity of the Chiveve River. With the reorganisation of waste disposal and appropriate training measures relating to maintenance for the population, it has prevented future silting and litter pollution of the river and the drainage channels.
