Background

During 2017, the Mali programme team trained a total of 3,414 farmers (988 women) on the techniques making fast compost in both compost pits and open air, with 690 farmers trained in Sikasso to enhance soil conservation efforts in the region. A total of 69,891 tonnes of fast compost was produced and used to fertilize 1,616 ha of crop land in Sikasso.
