The government of Mali, funded by the World Bank, constructed a 50 MW solar power plant in Sikasso. The project aimed to enhance the value of natural resources, increase the production capacity of the network, reduce costs of energy production and improve the quality of the public electricity service. The programme will play a major role in attempting to alleviate poverty and reduce inequalities within vulnerable communities across the country.
