The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) provided Analakininina and Morafeno hospitals with mercury-free medical materials and treatment equipment , aiming to prevent the incineration of medical waste that produce toxic emissions. The establishment of a an autoclave to treat medical waste, the provision of different materials, waste bins, and ways of transporting harmful waste have benefitted these health centres in finding innovative solutions to safer waste management.
