Four second-hand locomotives were shipped to the port of Toamasina to rehabilitate the Fianarantsoa Côte Est (FCE) train line. This represented an opportunity for the FCE to improve operational efficiency to 100% of the line. Furthermore, the renovation of a 200m viaduct in the locality of Sahasinaka as well as the repair of about sixty kilometres of track are being carried out, represent wider efforts to increase connectivity between regions.
