The project’s goal was to enable the emergence of a good quality and affordable efficient lighting market in Madagascar, thus promoting energy saving. Several key outputs include an energy labelling programme being put in place for all relevant household energy appliances, following with energy efficiency standards. The project has put forward important guidelines, namely the banning of import and production of all incandescent light bulbs and halogen lamps, amongst others.
