Tasikmalaya organic rice has become a prime commodity, with 3,000 organic farmers growing rice. The organic farmers' decision not to fight nature was instrumental, given they rejected chemical pesticides that degrade the quality of the soil and the rice seed, proving green management to be key to success. Since then, Rikolto's rice programme in Indonesia has been implementing demonstration plots as educational tools to promote sustainable rice cultivation to farmers.
