The project concerns Exide Industries, who partnered with renewable energy developer Cleantech Solar (Cleantech) to install captive solar projects at its factories. Exide stated that the solar power produced will provide energy its Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu, Bawal factory in Haryana and three factories in Maharashtra. This formed a significant part to the project's desire to push for renewables to encourage pollution-free industry.
