The West Bengal Government approved setting up of a 10MW solar power generation plant in Raniganj. The move was taken to promote the use of non-conventional, cleaner forms of energy. The plant will come up on a plot of around 52-acre and forms a considerable move of the state government in developing renewable infrastructure, providing uninterrupted access to electricity, not requiring frequent maintenance and being cost-effective.
