SOURA was a scheme of Government of Kerala aimed at developing Solar PV Rooftop/Ground mounted plants aggregating to 1000 MWp in the state. The SOURA scheme included 500 MWp through rooftop programming within the coming 2 years. The project has contributed to the electrification of Kerala through renewable sources, receiving 278,000 consumer applications.
