The NTPC installed a Floating Solar PV Plant at RGCCPP Kayamkulam, Kerala. It had various benefits such as conserving water through reduction of evaporation, reduced installation time and could be installed on saline water environment. The initiative forms part of an effort to explore more green energy production sources and is sufficient to light up around 26,000 households everyday, reduce the CO2 emission of 1,73,000 tonnes every year.
