Eram group took up the water conservation initiative to create awareness and implementing practical measures to save water in Bharathappuzha in 2017. The repair of 6 check dams was carried out by local people in association with local body governments. Sustainable methods utilizing ecological use of ground water were ensured, helping to retain water in the river and which in turn recharged the wells in the area.
