This GEF Trust Fund funded initiative was designed to promote integrated investment in sustainable mini-grids and low-carbon bioenergy technologies. This project contributed towards that goal by promoting and adopting low-carbon technologies for energy in forest-dependent local communities. These would include renewable energy-based mini-grids and bioenergy systems using resource-efficient cookstoves through four mini pilot grids, with further programmes targeted to enhance outcomes.
