The need for modern, reliable and affordable energy services is reflected by the government's attempts of promoting renewable energy investments throughout the country. The Barros distillery use of vinasse for the production of biogas has the potential of replacing unsustainable and expensive energy sources. However, this is limited due to a lack of access to technologies and high investment costs.
