Despite the overall Dire Dam project deemed important for economic development, the resettlement action plan is essential due to the loss of crops and fodder, permanent loss of residential houses or other structures and the project may lead to displacement of some of the population. The project is however likely to have positive livelihood outcomes during construction and implementation period, creating employment opportunity on permanent and temporary basis.
