DRC and Uganda government representatives held a meeting and made a commitment to establish patrols on the Lake Albert to stem illegal fishing and smuggling activities. The patrols will efficiently and effectively boost the production of fish for the benefit of the riverside population of these two states and also deal with issues relating to arms trafficking and harmful pirate activities, thereby increasing security in the region.
