Background

The main objective of the project was to investigate and assess the overall feasibility of the proposed 220 kV Transmission line Uganda (Nkenda) – DR Congo (Beni – Bunia – Butembo). The project is a key element in providing low cost power to Eastern DRC. It is an important part of the complete the regional power grid covering, resulting in the operationalization of the East African integrated power market.
