Vision Paysanne pour le Développement initiated a project to reduce deforestation in the province of South Kivu by producing ecological bricks whose manufacture does not require fuel. The project aimed at promoting conservation measures to protect trees, reduce emissions from wood combustion and improve living conditions for young people. The project has been successful in limiting greenhouse gas emissions, providing school support and also providing employment opportunities for young people.
