The Brazilian firm CFE-Corporate Ltd and the DRC government signed an agreement for the construction of a hydroelectric power station in Tshikapa. The project, which will produce 30MW in a first phase, will supply power to the city of Tshikapa, a centre for alluvial gem mining, as well as the rest of Western Kasai and the neighbouring Bandundu province.
