The heavy rains caused extensive material damage i.e. collapsed houses, broken streets and inaccessible city centre. The mayor is calling for resources and materials from the regional government. The lack of access to important infrastructure and urban/rural flood-risk systems in place have called for increased attention to tackle these issues.
