The National News Service (SENEL), an entity under the Ministry of Rural Development, has incorporated 46 health facilities to benefit from stand-alone solar power plants. These facilities do not have access to electricity, which is essential for the care of patients. This forms part of a broader initiative to support the development of around thirty green mini-grid projects over the next five to seven years and increase renewable energy-powered solutions.
