The project, financed by the AEG installed the first solar streetlights in Mbandaka. Electricity isn't available to light evening activities, but kerosene and candles are. It focused on clean, safe, and reliable energy to be one light switch away, every night for even the most remote villages. The solar systems in place are an accessible and affordable step in that direction.
