About 30 local farmers accuse the Chinese mining company Kaïpeng of having polluted their fields with mineral acids. Farmers are demanding compensation. Accounts by farmers claim that the practises enacted by the Chinese company have harmed local produce whilst contaminating critical water sources of almost 60% of the population. This has exposed the darker side of the effects the mining industry has had on local populations.
