The General Enterprise Malta Forest and the Provincial Government of Katanga violate the rights of local communities by illegally demolishing more or less 500 houses in the village of Kawama. To express their dissatisfaction, many clandestine diggers and traders involved in this illegal artisanal mining of Luswishi minerals got involved in demonstrations. The impacts of government actions severely impact the impetus to address environmental degradation and ecosystem deterioration.
